Mission
The American Naprapathic Association (ANA) champions the enhancement of public awareness and recognition of Naprapathy as a distinguished healthcare practice. Our mission prioritizes the elevation of educational standards and the enrichment of expertise among Doctors of Naprapathy, fostering an environment where academic and professional excellence is the norm. We are equally committed to nurturing the professional growth and success of our members, solidifying the ANA as the premier professional hub for both naprapathic practitioners and students. The Association also provides comprehensive educational resources and esteemed board certification to ensure continuous development within the profession. Culminating our efforts, we actively support and extend the practice of Naprapathy through dedicated legislative advocacy, ensuring the long-term advancement and sustainability of the naprapathic profession.

The American Naprapathic Association (ANA) stands at the forefront as the pioneering light for the naprapathic profession, unwavering in our mission to enhance the practice and scholarship of naprapathic physicians, doctors and students. We uphold a standard of patient care excellence that is reflective of our distinctive naprapathic philosophy. We are dedicated to expanding the horizons of our practice through the establishment and leadership of naprapathic research worldwide. It is our vision to be the primary catalyst for scientific inquiry and discovery in our field, advancing the understanding and application of naprapathy to benefit patient health globally.
To strengthen our national presence, the ANA is also focused on creating and nurturing state-level naprapathic organizations throughout the United States. These bodies will provide localized support, fostering a national network of professional excellence and solidarity. Furthermore, we are committed to building a collaborative framework with naprapathic organizations all around the world. By linking arms with international partners, we aim to foster a unified global community dedicated to the growth and prosperity of naprapathy.
As we honor our legacy as the inaugural naprapathic organization, established in 1909, we acknowledge our role in setting the pace for innovation and advocacy within our field. We embrace the responsibility to lead with integrity, to pioneer research, and to advocate for the highest possible standards in all facets of naprapathic care.
In this pursuit, the ANA is dedicated to being the “Guiding Light” for current and future generations within the global naprapathic community.

ANA Strategic Plan
ANA Strategic Plan charts pathway to innovation and collaboration mission, vision and value statements define the ANA’s purpose and outlook for the naprapathic profession. In June 2021, the ANA launched a bold new Strategic Plan, which will guide our work in service of our members and the naprapathic profession throughout the next five years.
The culmination of a nine-month planning process informed through virtual focus groups and membership survey findings, the new Strategic Plan sets the ANA on a path to redefine, redirect and revitalize the impact of the organization within the naprapathic profession and in the lives of the practitioners and students in the U.S. In addition to identifying seven priority objectives and supporting strategies for implementation, the Strategic Plan establishes the following Mission and Vision Statements that redefine the ANA’s purpose, values and outlook for our members and profession.

Naprapathic Pledge of Commitment
Affirm your commitment to provide compassionate, quality care as members of the naprapathic medical profession, in an effort to instill loyalty and strengthen the profession, we recall the tenets on which this profession is founded: the dynamic interaction of mind, body and spirit; the body’s ability to heal itself; the primary role of the musculoskeletal system; and preventive medicine as the key to maintain health. We recognize the work our predecessors have accomplished in building the profession, and we commit ourselves to continuing that work.
I pledge to:
- Provide compassionate, quality care to my patients;
- Partner with them to promote health;
- Display integrity and professionalism throughout my career;
- Advance the philosophy, practice and science of naprapathic medicine;
- Continue life-long learning;
- Support my profession with loyalty in action, word and deed; and
- Live each day as an example of what a naprapathic doctor should be.
I hereby pledge that I will keep this oath and stipulation.
At this time, I vow to devote my professional life to the service of all humankind through the profession of naprapathy.
I adopt the Naprapathic principles for the benefit of humankind according to my ability and judgements and not for a disservice.
I will not give drug therapy as a treatment protocol, although I may be knowledgeable of such or be it asked of me, nor will I counsel such.
I will not attempt surgery in any form but will leave this to be done by those that are practitioners of such art.
I will consider the welfare of humanity and relief of human suffering as my primary concerns.
I will apply my knowledge, experience and skills to the best of my ability to assure pain relief and optimal health outcomes for the patients I serve.
I will keep abreast of developments and maintain professional competency in my profession of naprapathy.
I will maintain the highest principles of moral, ethical and legal conduct.
I will embrace and advocate change in the profession of naprapathy that improves patient care.
With honesty and sincerity, I will practice Naprapathy in service to the public, without distinction of race, color or creed.
I take these vows voluntarily with the full realization of the responsibility with which I am entrusted by the public.
